FYI

Just so you know, me and my germy buddies found out recently that AOL UK did a study to find out the habits of you nasty humans. They studied keyboards of office workers to see what sort of nastiness you leave behind everyday. Here are some of their findings:
1.Computer keyboards are accumulating up to two grams of dirt every month
2.Much of the stuff was food related, but also in the dirt were dead insects as well as fingernail parings, small patches of dead skin and the odd hair.
Here was the basic keyboard grime breakdown:
Corn Flakes (15%)
Boiled sweet (15%)
Noodles (7%)
Vegetable piece (4%)
Leaf (1%)
Pencil shavings (1%)
Staple (1%)
Finger nail (<1%)
Tape/plastic (<1%)
Insect (<1%)
Foil (<1%)
Hair (<1%)
Various particles resembling cereal grains, biscuit crumbs, bread crumbs, pastry flakes and chocolate crumbs (56%)
Now, I'm sure you're sitting there saying, "oh no that's grosss!!", but my germ family and I have stories of our own to tell about your nasty habits. But hey, don't change anything on my account. We love you for your nasty habits. It gives us more to breed in.

OMG!!!! there goes the neighborhood!

Dammit! just when I thought it was safe to move my whole family of germs onto your computer desktop, I find out that we are not alone. Apparently at night when we are basically sleeping off the activities of the day, RATS are running around all over your keyboard!...LOL! It's kinda funny actually. I can just imagine the look of disgust on your face as you read this.
According to The Royal Society of Chemistry, mice are leaving droppings in computer keyboards as they search for food crumbs in empty offices at night. One London cleaning firm says: 'A woman worker wondered why 'seeds' were coming out of her computer keyboard when she typed.'She was mystified because she did not eat food at her desk. An investigation showed them to be mice droppings.'
Haha, maybe now you'll get off your butt and clean your computer.

A tale of dust

Here goes as quick as possible. September 2010: We get 3 kittens. They get into everything. One of them keeps getting behind the computer desk and hits the button on the power strip which powers off the whole system, monitor, tower, etc. In an effort to stop this I push everything up against the wall and re-organize everything which results in the tower being blocked off. This works but I have concerns of over heating, not enough air getting in. Cut to March 2011. I am having all sorts of problems with the computer. Late last week the dreaded blue screen of death. So I decide to do a factory restore. I have Acronis but my thought was start clean. I won't lose any data so why not? Well all that went good but damnit I get the blue screen again! So I pull out the tower, open it up and horrors of horrors! The inside of the tower is chocked with dust! I am so ashamed! The little air grids under the power supply were completely blocked with dust. The little fan that sits on the motherboard sealed with dust. I take the tower out into the garage and Take the shop vac and set it on blow. I carefully blow out the tower. Dust storm in Valpo! I put it all back together and all has been well since!
